Yikes, its been a while since the last post, but that’s partly because I was away on holiday for a while at the start of August, and then things have been fairly busy. I’m continuing to crank out pages for Aniventure Shimaihen, and I’m also thinking of getting my good friend to aid in artwork for a new reprint (with errata) of the original Aniventure book.
This means you won’t have to deal with artwork thats quite as hideous. 😀
I could come up with innumerate excuses for Aniventure’s artwork, like I was rushed to print, the volume of illustrations meant a lower overall quality, lack of skill at the time and various other things, but frankly, at the end of the day, there is no denying that some of it is just frankly awful. I think finding a 4chan thread taking the piss out the knight’s package (on the front cover) really drove that home whilst simultaneously making me laugh. Laugh? Well, yes, because if that’s the worst the cruelest people on the internet can manage, I think I’m in good shape.
Anyway, I’ve also hopped onto Guild Wars II. I’ve not done any significant MMORPG gaming since my ancient days on Ragnarok Online, but a number of interesting things have drawn me to this game:
- Firstly, the unique storylines in several combinations based on your race and class and biography choices.
- Secondly, the dissolution of the Holy Trinity of Healers, Tanks and DPS.
- Thirdly, the fact that pretty much any build can be effective.
- And lastly, the overflow servers destroying the stupid need to queue for an hour before you can play the game at all.
I will say that at the moment, it’s been plagued by a number of niggling bugs, like people not being able to party correctly with their friends, guilds not gaining influence, logon and authentication issues from time to time. Nothing absolutely horrendous, but certainly a fair degree of vaguely irritating. Even so, the rate at which ArenaNet have been attempting to fix the issues is at least decent (though one wonders why this sort of stuff did not get caught in Beta).
I’ve reformed my ancient guild, Argent Arclight, with a PvE and Story focus. And actually, this post is also to allow my new members to vote for a banner (hello to you if you’ve made it here!) in the 24 hours or so it’ll take to finish the banner construction. So without further ado:
Clicking on it may allow you to see it slightly bigger.
Of course, the colours may not the same when I actually make it as I’m not sure if we’ll be restricted to dyes we’ve unlocked so far, but the colours in general are White/Grey/Purple/Cyan/Blue. The potential designs available are shown on the WIKI HERE, in case you want to look. I’m assuming the Black part of the Emblems becomes transparent, whereas on the background the Red and Black will be changable colours.
Once the guild vault is in place, the subsequent goal after that will be our Guild Armourer contract so you can have this design on your stuff. So pick wisely. That said, as long as there isn’t a big cost, I’ll be okay with changes later down the line.
Tell me in game which you prefer, or leave a comment on this post.
That’s all for now, guys. Stay tuned
